Whether you are planning a trip to London or you are a local Londoner, Notting Hill with it’s cute pastel-coloured houses and vintage shops is a great place to spend the day. In this post I will outline my day itinerary for walking around Notting Hill covering all of the most instagrammable streets and colourful houses, and including a useful map pinning exact locations of the best photos to take in Notting Hill.
The walking tour is around 5km (3 miles), I would take at least 3 hours to do the loop around Notting Hill, this way you have time to explore, take photos and make any necessary food/drink pit stops!
You can choose to start at either Ladbroke Grove or Notting Hill Gate Underground. This day itinerary will start at Ladbroke Grove tube station.
The first stop on your Notting Hill walking tour is Lancaster Road, a haven for super colourful houses! and just round the corner from Ladbroke Grove underground.
A few of the houses are covered in scaffolding, so you might need to be creative with the angles of your photos!
The next stop is St Lukes Mews, this is a super cute street that you might recognise from Love Actually. You know that scene where the best friend proclaims his love for Keira Knightly?
In St Lukes Mews you will find the super cute pink house (make sure you bring some cash to make a donation if you want a photo here), as well as a number of other colourful houses, including one with wisteria in spring!
Turn left out of St Lukes Mews then right onto Westbourne Park Road to find more of Notting Hill’s iconic colourful houses, as well as the little blue door from Notting Hill (not the original one though as that one was actually sold!)
My personal favourite street in Notting Hill, the pastel-coloured Colville Houses are so instagrammable and perfect for photos!
If you’re on the look out for a quirky gift or London souvenir, Portobello Road market is the perfect stop on your day in Notting Hill.
Portobello Road is also the street where Hugh Grant’s travel book store is in “Notting Hill“, so if you’re a movie buff make sure you check it out!
With its unique black-and-white façade, Biscuiteers in Notting Hill is a super cute and vintage shopfront in London.
The Biscuiteers Café is a great place for a pit stop, enjoy a drink and a biscuit! Make sure you have a look inside, and admire the collection of Beatrix potter biscuits!
Your next stop on your Notting Hill walking tour is the cute and instaworthy pink house on the corner of Pottery Lane and Penzance Place.
Walking here from the Biscuiteers Café you will pass several private gardens which are the ones featured on the film Notting Hill (remember Hugh Grant saying ‘oopsie daisie’ whilst trying to sneak in?).
The roads next to the pink house aren’t busy but none-the-less if you plan to going into the road for your photo please be careful and quick!
The Churchill Arms is completely covered in flowers, an instagrammers dream! It’s a great place to stop for a photo as well as for a drink or some Thai food!
A few red double decker buses also go down this street if you’re after an iconic London photo!
Just round the corner from the Churchill Arms, you will find the cute house with the pink door on Bedford Gardens. Come at the end of April to enjoy the house covered in wisteria!
The final stop of your tour of Notting Hill. You will find rows and rows of colourful instagrammable houses on Uxbridge Street and Hillgate Place.
I hope you have an amazing day exploring the cute instagrammable streets of Notting Hill, one of my favourite areas in London. Please remember to be respectful of those that live here, don’t take too long taking photos, or make too much noise.
Whilst you’re in the neighbourhood you might also want to check out Holland Park, the Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Gardens and Palace.

Love this post! Your pictures are so pretty. Notting Hill looks like such a colorful place. This could be a a good day trip from London.
Beautiful photos! I've only been to Notting Hill when the markets were going on, so I feel like I missed all the vibrant colors (though the market was amazing)!! I love all the brightly colored doors. I wish I could convince my husband that we need one of those. ;)
