10 Most Instagrammable Spots in Byron Bay

Byron Bay is one of the trendiest beach towns in Australia, and a popular destination for backpackers and road trippers. Byron Bay is a super laid back hippie town with lots of things to do (and eat!) and plenty of photo opportunities. From cute brunch spots (with heaps of vegan options) to beautiful long beaches (surfing galore) it’s a great spot to chill out for a days. If you’re road tripping down the East Coast make sure to include it in your itinerary. Below I share the most instagrammable spots in Byron Bay, making a great itinerary for a couple of days, helping you to fully explore all the cute spots in the eastern most point of Australia!

1) Cape Byron Lighthouse

Cape Byron Lighthouse is probably the most famous photo spot in Byron Bay. Not only is this where you will find Australia’s most easterly point, but its picturesque vantage point makes it a great spot to watch both the sunrise and sunset, whilst also dolphin spotting!

TOP TIP – Cape Byron Lighthouse is a lot busier on the weekend, so if you can I would come midweek. You can either walk up, or drive, however you will need to pay $4 an hour parking. Although parking is free after 6pm!

Another cute café to check out in Byron Bay is FOLK. The cute interior, outside seating and delicious vegan food makes it the perfect spot for breakfast or brunch. I tried the vegan burrito which was mouth-wateringly good! It’s a bit further out of the centre, so you will need a car or bike to get here.

7) Wategos Beach

Wategos beach is a peaceful sheltered beach that is a perfect place to sunbathe, enjoy a picnic, and also surf! I think it’s one of Byron Bay’s best beaches, the westerly position, and abundance of greenery makes it a great place to shoot golden hour at sunset.
